Award-winning vocalist Zoe Chilco is a Canadian singer and songwriter performing jazz standards, originals, and blues with the kind of soul and swing that make an evening in her company an event which is both unique and familiar. She has been singing and recording in Toronto and on the occasional European jaunt for a number of years. She has produced nine collections of her own songs, garnering critical comment lauding her voice as “velvety and romantic…but at the same time, full of power”.
Chilco wrote and continues to perform a loving and intimate tribute to the great Zoot Sims featuring songs she wrote in homage to him, and a firsthand narrative of the time they spent together. A highlight of 2015 was a sold-out night at Toronto’s spacious Hugh’s Room, celebrating her most recent CD “DecaDance”, and featuring a lively band with stalwarts Deehan and Johnston, that had the enthusiastic crowd on their feet and dancing. Her song ‘Havelock Street’ is a finalist at www.songwritingcontest.co.uk/2002.html.
