Andy Crawford – 2011 Music Festival

Andy Crawford has been a tremendous asset to the Music Festival for many years. From the Festival’s infancy Andy has helped organize the event by managing the electronics and sound equipment, including the manning and operation of the sound equipment during the performances.  Andy is also the go-to guy for problem solving the myriad of electrical problems that are inevitable during the preparation and actual operation of such an event. Professionally Andy plays bass guitar, and commonly joins in with the various groups performing at the Music Festival while also running around performing other duties vital to the smooth operation of the Festival.

2015 – Andy Crawford

As a professional jazz bassist and guitarist in central Illinois, Andy is also adjunct faculty in Music at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he teaches Jazz Bass and Jazz Improvisation.

  1. Andy/San Pancho Music Festival, Hi my name is Fred Shumate, I have a place in Alamos, Sonora and hope to attend the SPMF this year: I’m interested in playing some music while there if that is an option. I do have some other socio’s and friends in San-P but my long-time musical buddy Drew Hunt will be away during that time. I compose and play some of my original tunes (see Facebook or ReverbNation: “Fred Shumate and the Burro Band”) on piano, have played Harmonica with many artists and have studied and played Afro-Carribean/Afro-Jazz music for many years (percussionist: congero, bongocero, etc).

One problem: I will not be traveling with my piano and congas (will bring bongos and percussion things) and wondering if there might be instruments available to rent or play, even if just to practice.

I Look forward to seeing my first San Pancho Music Festival, this February 2013. Thanks, Fred

PS. This weekend begins the Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (FAOT) Music Festival here in Alamos, Sonora with ten days of great music sponsored by the State of Sonora and the Mexican Federal Government: Opera, Classical, Jazz, Rock, con todo. And maybe best of all, is every conjunto, trio and Norteno band from miles around come to play for tips, all night long, in the streets of Alamos.
